This piece is influenced by the vernacular furniture styles found in Wales, in particular the myriad regional variations of stick chairs.
This chair was made with timber sourced within a five mile radius of my workshop and has, as far as possible, been made with a fairly concise range of hand tools. No plans or designs were drawn ahead of the construction - the eventual appearance of the chair was instead guided by a succession of aesthetic decisions made throughout the making process ensuring the finished work is unique.
